Himaya was founded in 2008 and has continued to grow, responding to child protection needs on a national level. The dedicated & multidisciplinary team of professionals covers all Lebanese territory with offices in Mount Lebanon, South Lebanon, North Lebanon and the Bekaa; ensuring accessible services to children across Lebanon. Himaya is a specialized NGO in the child protection sector, working to prevent violence against children and offer the support needed for abused children on a psychosocial and legal level; eventually allowing them to be reintegrated as productive and active members of society.
In order to achieve its mission, Himaya works with children as well as their families and environment as a whole. Himaya strives for a radical change on a national level in order to improve the lives of children in Lebanon.

Prevention Program
The aim of the Prevention Program is to develop the knowledge, know-how and necessary self-protection skills needed by caregivers, professionals and children in order to prevent violence. Awareness activities are carefully prepared and delivered within public or private sectors, indirectly allowing facilitators to detect cases of violence while raising awareness on the subject.
Resilience Program
The Resilience Program offers specialized psychological services to children and their families through Himaya's external offices spread out across Lebanon.
Capacity Building and Research & Development Department (CBRD)
The CBRD strives to develop the skills of professionals working with children by providing them with specialized training sessions and workshops related to child protection. CBRD organizes regular training sessions with Himaya's teams, as well as external training sessions and workshops for professionals working in the child protection sector.
